Sierra Nevada Foothills
“Nature is not a place to visit. It is home.” -Gary Snyder
Montreux is on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada Range adjacent to the Mt Rose Wilderness Area which offers mountain lakes, colorful wild flowers, and a variety of wildlife. Galena Creek bifurcates the community and offers a picturesque walking trail which connects to the greater Tahoe Rim trail system. Within 20 minutes from your front door, you can be on the chair lift at Mt. Rose, which offers some of Tahoe’s best snow conditions with a base elevation of 8,260’. Montreux offers excellent access to many of the region’s education facilities along with daily shopping needs in the greater Galena area. When compared to Incline Village, Montreux offers a shorter winter, a longer golf season at a better value. Once you enter the guarded gates, life is safe, private, and peaceful.
